Did you know that our nursery at Bishop Burton is open to the public? Yes, that’s right! A lot of people think that because it’s located on the grounds of the college, it is for staff and students only. But that’s not the case. Our nursery is used by parents in Bishop Burton and surrounding villages, and as far afield as Beverley.
The nursery is one of the area’s best kept secrets, providing top quality childcare in an idyllic, rural setting. Open from 7.30am, it is perfectly located for local parents who need to drop their kids off before work, and for commuters travelling to York on the A1079.
Bishop Burton is one of our smallest nurseries, with just 54 places available, but we like it like that. It gives it an intimate, family feel, which perfectly matches village life. Children love it too. Surrounded by farm animals that appear the moment you turn into the drive, they are always excited to return.
In common with all Tiptoes nurseries, Bishop Burton has a fantastic staff-to-child ratio, employing a total of six fully trained carers. Five of those have passed the Level 3 Childcare Diploma and the sixth is a graduate. All are first aid trained.
We established the nursery two years ago and in August we achieved a good Ofsted report. With an emphasis on continual improvement, we fully expect to be graded outstanding on our next inspection. So parents can be confident their children are in the best possible environment to learn, socialise and play.
So, if you need high quality, dedicated childcare in the Bishop Burton/Cherry Burton/Walkington area, then check us out – we’re for everyone, not just for staff or students!
