Tiptoes Bricknell Nursery opened in August 2011 and has forged excellent links with all the local primary schools, in particular Bricknell, Appleton and Cottingham Croxby.

As with all our nurseries, it is purpose built. Everything is designed across two floors with all age groups having access to the outside space.

The nursery is very spacious. Our babies and pre-toddlers are all housed on the 1st floor, each in their own area. Our toddlers and pre-schoolers are on the ground floor, with direct access to the outside area.

Bricknell is conveniently located along Bricknell Avenue, so is great for anyone who commutes between Cottingham and Hull or who lives in west Hull’s HU5 area or the east side of Cottingham.

The security and safety of your children is paramount. To gain access to Tiptoes each parent is given an individual four-digit PIN which is a personal four-digit number. Our internal systems monitor and log every single time the front door is opened, from inside and outside. With additional security features, such as an alarm if the door is kept open longer than is deemed necessary. Security cameras monitor all the main inside and outside areas. Access to all children’s areas are via additional safety gates.

NURSERY MANAGEMENT TEAM …

Hi everyone, my name is Kim and I am the deputy manager at our site at Bricknell.

I joined Tiptoes in June 2016 and became the deputy in December 2018. I have an extended Level 3 in children and young people’s workforce. I was the deputy working alongside Vanessa when we achieved our OUTSANDING OFSTED Report in April 2019 which we are all still very proud of. I have the most experience working with babies and pre-school which I still currently run with my pre-school staff team.

As a deputy manager and the room leader in our pre-school room the most rewarding part of my job is that I love watching the children achieve their milestones and keeping them safe. I love being apart of the children’s learning and growth daily and getting each child ready for their school journey. I am the nursery SENCO and have a passion for working with children with SEN and love helping them achieve new milestones.

A little information about myself:

I live with my partner of 11 years and our two dogs.  I have a younger brother and an older sister, I love spending time with my family and friends. I love going on trips, different excursions and being out in nature with my dogs and partner.

Hi Everyone, my name is Emma I am the deputy Manager at our Bricknell Avenue site.

I joined Tiptoes in May 2013 and have a level 5 degree in childhood studies. I have worked in all of the rooms but am currently a keyworker and room leader in the preschool room I have had the most experience in the baby room and in the pre-school room. I love working with children under 5 and have a big passion in progressing their development and supporting their needs.

As a deputy manager and preschool room leader, my job is to make sure all staff feel supported and to make staff feel happy and safe within their role. Also, to make sure that the children always feel welcomed and are safe while in our care and are developing in their learning daily. I love been able to watch the children achieve and develop in each area of development and milestone while being in my care. It is also so lovely to see the children play and are happy when they come to nursery and have a lovely strong relationship with all the staff.

In my spare time I love to spend time with my daughter and going on family holidays. I also like to socialise with friends too.

OPENING TIMES: Tiptoes Bricknell is open 07:30 – 18:00 Monday to Friday (except for bank holidays and the days between Christmas and the New Year)

SESSION TIMES: Morning sessions run from 07:30 – 12:30 and include lunch. Afternoon sessions are 13:00 – 18:00 and include afternoon tea..
