This week our wonderful children recognised the need to help others less fortune than themselves by raising money for Children in Need.
All of our nurseries got involved and raised hundreds of pounds for the charity through donations, yummy cake sales, raffles, games and a host of other activities.
wo unlucky members of staff at our Waterside nursery in Hessle went above and beyond and got their feet and ankles covered with cold beans. The children engaged in a top secret private balled and voted for a staff member to have their feet covered in beans, Rachel and Pauline got the most votes – we are not sure how Rachel always ends up with these tasks!
Importantly the children thoroughly enjoyed pouring spaghetti and tomatoes on their feet!
At our new Goole nursery, the staff and children dressed up and made Pudsey biscuits and a sensory tray was created amongst other things. A sponsored run took place in the large garden area as well as at Waterside and Morrill St where painted faces and decorated plates could be seen at home time.
Willerby nursery also had a full week of activities so every child could get involved. Ranging from a pyjama day, sponsored race and even a crazy hair day. Photos where available but unfortunately, they were too ‘crazy’ to make the edited version!
Finally, at Bricknell nursery they went from wear something spotty on Tuesday to an obstacle course/race, Pudsey hunt outdoors and a PJ day. Staff participated in a duck race, but no photos of this close encounter exist. Vanessa is hunting for some to share!
In all, the activities raised more than £600 for the charity and we were delighted by all of the children’s efforts, and their understanding of the need to raise the money.
November so far has been another busy month here at Tiptoes and the children have had lots of fun and educational experiences. But with the countdown to Christmas now underway, December will be filled with as much festive themed-fun (as we can) and very excited little ones. As ever, we’ll be back in a few weeks’ time to tell you all about it!
